Our brief was to pick a piece of artwork and to try and capture it's characteristics using flowers and foliage. I worked backwards with this one having already picked up the orangy/yellow ranunculus, I looked for a painting that they would work well with. I also used a little bit of willow, waxflower and alstromeria here.
Simple topiary trees made with box foliage and white chrysanths - will be fun to try different kinds of foliage and flowers next time, now that we've mastered the technique.
Our assignment was to create an arrangement using flowers, foliage and a container that reflected the Art Nouveau, or Art Deco movements - I chose Nouveau because I love the curves, colours and loose arrangement, plus I spotted the container in my local charity shop and really liked it. I used purple lisianthus, snap dragons, white alstroemeria and some eucalyptus.
